Location
Embryogenex is the embryo transfer division of Creekside Animal Clinic Ltd., a partnership between Drs. Brian McOnie and Murray Flock. Our office and veterinary facilities are located at 5001- 24th. Street, Vernon, B.C. V1T 8X7. Vernon is situated at the north end of the beautiful Okanagan Valley and is approximately equidistant from Calgary, AB and Vancouver, B.C.
The embryo transfer activities are conducted by Dr. Brian McOnie with the support of our registered animal health technologists, either at our clinic facility or on our client's farms. This component of the practice was begun in 1992 when Dr. McOnie joined Creekside Animal Clinic Ltd. (which was begun by Dr. Flock in 1986), upon completing additional training at the University of California, Davis.
Embryo transfer services
We provide a comprehensive embryo transfer service including donor superovulation, embryo recovery, embryo transfer (laparoscopic or non-surgical), embryo freezing, as well as donor and recipient management. Embryo transfer services for all domestic species are offered with the majority of our case load involving small ruminants and cattle.The practice has obtained considerable experience with embryo transfers in small ruminants, with the introduction of Boer goats from New Zealand to Canada in 1993, and with the dairy breeds of domestic goats. The recent introduction of Dorper, White Dorper and Damara sheep embryos from South Africa has provided significant opportunities for our clients to obtain genetic material previously unavailable in North America. The application of embryo transfer in dairy goat breeding represents an area of growth. We are responding to increasing client demand for equine embryo transfer services and collaborate with an equine breeding facility.
Most clients we service are located in Canada, although we have performed sizeable projects in China and for investors based in the United States. Our equipment is fully mobile and we are able to travel internationally as required..
Embryo sales and marketing
We source sheep, goat and cattle embryos on behalf of Canadian. We have contacts with embryo transfer practitioners within Canada and in South Africa, France, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand and therefore can assist in the importation and transfer of embryos from many countries. In addition, we assist local clients with the storage, shipping and marketing of their embryos and can often locate donor animals to satisfy specific requests.

Future developments
Embryo splitting (bisection) and embryo sexing are areas for which we anticipate increased client demand.
